THE SWORD OF THE LORD

10 DAYS SLIDE
FASTING DEVOTIONAL #4: THE SWORD OF THE LORD

Today’s devotional is an excerpt from Myrna’s prayer journal. (Scripture references were added later.) Within the context of the discussion is some insight and instruction on fasting. As you read, PRAY, and see if He speaks to you, as well…

JESUS: When you approach the enemy, it must be from the position of a superior to an inferior. You must understand and embrace your position and authority OVER HIM.

There can be no fear of him or doubt about your standing in the rank order. You are not subject to him; he is subject to you. (Luke 10:19-20, 1 Corinthians 6:3)

You outrank him and have the authority of heaven behind you. He must do what you say. Do not let him intimidate you. When you know who you are, he trembles! (James 2:19)

MYRNA: Like when the disciples went out in Your Name? (Luke 10)

JESUS: Yes, I saw Satan fail like lightening from heaven, as my disciples went out two by two! That is why they could not understand why they could not cast the demon out of the boy, while some of us were on the mountain. (Matthew 17)

(SEE DEVOTIONAL #3 FOR MORE ON THIS…)

MYRNA: Lord, the other night in prayer, I saw a blacksmith fashioning a sword. He held it in the fire and beat on it with a hammer. Then, he took it out of the fire, looked at it, put it back in the fire, and beat on it a bit more – until it was fashioned properly. He worked, until he got it just right. (Jeremiah 23:29)

At the time, I didn’t know the significance of what I was seeing, but now I think the blacksmith was YOU! You are fashioning a weapon – and somehow, this has something to do with praying and fasting…

JESUS: I am making a sword, yes, a weapon. My sword is a people who are fashioned in the fire, and the Word that comes out of their mouth will be refined seven times. (Psalm 12:6)

They will rise up as one and declare My will in the land! (Ephesians 4:13) They are a people who are sure of who they are and how I have equipped them.

I am fashioning a sword – not many Swords, but one sword. As you go forward, as one, speaking the same things, My Spirit will go to war!

I will put this sword in His hands to wield in the earth. (Ephesians 6:17)
