THINGS CAN CHANGE IN A MOMENT OF TIME

By Paul Moore

ChangeI read an article recently about a young Muslim girl whose life was forever changed in a moment of time. At a very young age, her father wanted to marry her off to a wealthy man, who already had three wives and several children. She was actually younger than his youngest child.

When she told her father she would not marry this man and threatened to run away, he became enraged and hit her over the head with a chair leg. The blow crushed her skull, and she died. Realizing he had killed his daughter, he wrapped her body in a plastic bag and dumped in a dry, abandon well. As her lifeless body hurled down the well, something incredible happened. Standing at the bottom of the well was Jesus! He caught her body, untied the sack, placed His hands on her head, and breathed life back into her physical body. She was suddenly alive! When she opened her eyes, she saw the man who caught her. He had nail prints in His hands.

Before any of this happened, a friend from school told her about Jesus – she refused to believe. But now she believed!

Jesus carried her out of the well and told a nearby pastor and his wife to go to that well. There they found this young lady, who had just been rescued by the hand of God. Her life was completely changed in a moment of time. Jesus stepped into her world and she would never be the same.

I love stories like that, because it gives us hope: The most impossible situations can change in a moment of time!

When God steps into our world, everything can change – no matter how difficult that may seem. The question is, do we really believe that? Do we approach every day actively believing that everything can change in a moment of time?

Jesus told us in Mark 11, that the biggest mountains in life can be moved out of the way – if we just pray and believe. “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:23-24

Do you really believe our life can change in a moment of time? How about our health, finances, emotional struggles, relationship issues? Do you believe our nation can change in a moment of time? All things are possible – if we will believe!

I’m going out on a limb to say something I believe God is stirring in my heart. I believe something major is going to happen in the next couple. Something that may very well, change the course of this nation. America is teetering on a precipice of either a Third Great Awakening or judgment unlike we have ever seen before, judgment from which there may be no return.

Many have said that God is raising-up a modern day Cyrus, like Cyrus the Great, who delivered Israel from their Babylonian captivity. (Read Isaiah 45) Is Donald Trump God’s modern day Cyrus? Right now, the odds seem to be stacked against Trump. Those odds will probably grow worse in the coming days. The devil is working over-time to destroy this nation, not because of what we have become, but because of what we once were – a nation under God.

If God doesn’t intervene, Donald Trump will not be elected. While he continues to put his foot in his mouth, the liberal agenda determined to destroy this nation, grows larger and more powerful over-night. But that means nothing to God. He commissioned a 16 year old boy to take down a giant. He did it once, He can do it again.

In a moment of time everything can change – if we pray and believe. The young Muslim girl in the story did not believe God would rescue her from her father, but someone did. Maybe it was the friend that told her about Jesus or someone on the other side of the globe who was praying and believing for her salvation. Faith is an amazing thing. If we pray and do not doubt – all things are possible.

The future of our nation may be in our hands of a praying and believing church. If John Wesley was right, “That God does nothing but in answer to believing prayer,” we have a great challenge before us. Will we pray and believe for the impossible? Will we pray and believe that Jesus will be standing at the bottom of our well to catch the Bride of Christ and breathe new life into her body. It can happen! It will happen if we pray and believe!
